Convert GDL files from Archicad 14 to 12

I've a big problem. I've converted a big chunk of .3ds files to .gsm (the .3ds were given to us by some stores that want to sell their furniture products and so they willingly provide their models for architects), but I never noticed the issue of archicad versions.

Because we run two different versions of archicads in our office (12 and 14), and because the computer runnning 14 is way faster than the others, I invested some time making this conversion (complete with the renderization of the models) and I ended up with a bunch of .gsm files version 27.

But these files are unusable by my colleagues who use archicad 12.

So I searched for a way to convert these files, and ended up with the GDL developer Kit to convert these files to XML, and another GDL Converter Kit (v12) to convert them back to version 12.

I'm very naive at computer languages, but with pain I think I understood the process. Problem is, it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone here know how to make this conversion? Can you spell it like I'm 3 year old, please?

Things I've done so far:

I've installed both kits (for version 14 and 12), I've run LP_XMLConverter.exe with the following code:
LP_XMLConverter l2x [-l int] C:\ArchicadEXP\BibArchicad\14\Magis C:\ArchicadEXP\BibXML\Magis
It does nothing.

Thanks in advance.

PS: If your answer is something in the order of "convince your pals to upgrade to 14", don't bother. We haven't the budget to do that, period. Thanks anyway.
