As a tip: if you save the whole building as an object, there will be a lot of CALL statements in that object calling all the library parts for objects, door, windows etc. This means, unless you have the library loaded in the project you place the object in, parts will be missing. At least it worked this way the last time I used this method.
An alternative way is to save your file (important or you might lose work) and then convert the whole thing to morph. You can relink the morphs to story 0, merge them in to single morphs etc. I found this approach to work just as easy as having the object, without having to worry about missing object links.
But most of the time I make a special published module of the building that I can use in other files. If the story settings are different, I set up an in between step PLN where I move the module stories as needed and save out a 2nd module from that. Because nested modules are updated, I pretty much only need to set this file up once and never come back there.
