I seem to be having a very strange issue with a section marker I am trying to create. This is my first time trying to edit a GDL object, so do not assume I haven't just done something stupid.
First I created a new Object and assigned it the section marker subtype.
Then I drew the object in the 2D Symbol window. It looks like this:
http://prntscr.com/7ilu8v
So I saved this to see how I was doing, and created a section with it. The following is what happened:
http://prntscr.com/7ilupl
It looks "smushed" or possibly even as if it is pointing upward?
Here is the parameters window:
http://prntscr.com/7ilvh9
I tried to copy these settings over from a pre-existing section marker.
I think this would have been easier if I could have edited one of the pre-existing section markers...but I don't see how. When I open them up, there is nothing in the 2D Symbol window.
http://prntscr.com/7ilwc2
So I have no idea how to "edit" this existing section marker if theres no image to edit or draw on.....

Another way of creating a new Section Marker is to open an existing one, save it under a new name and modify that. Might be better way of doing it because an existing one is already working, already has all its parameters, etc.

I changed the B parameter and nothing happened at all to the marker. It now looks like this:
http://prntscr.com/7imf8k
Also I don't understand how to change an existing marker because theres is nothing drawn in the 2D window. When I open an existing marker and open the 2D window to edit the marker, its just empty. Ive tried pasting in the marker that I want into that space but nothing happens. I tried deleting the script in the existing marker but still nothing happened.

I think your A and B parameters are very much out of proportion. ARCHICAD resizes the 2D Symbol you have drawn to be the size defined by the A and B parameters. They should be set to similar default values in the Library Editor.

Anyway, I created a simple Section Marker like yours based on the default Section Marker.
It responds to the size settings changes made in the Marker Height field of the Dialog. See attached file.
You will see that I have drawn a 2D Symbol, then also created a simple 2D Script which set the scaling properly, then places the 2D Symbol.

The Built-in Section Marker doesn't have a 2D Symbol and it doesn't have a 2D Script. But it has a Master Script which is executed at the beginning of every other script, including the 2D Script.

Does it work if you switch back to the Basic Section Marker, then again to this Section Marker?
Does it work if you set the settings first, then place a new Section Line?
Does it work in a brand new project file?
You might also want to upgrade to the latest AC18 hotfix, just to make sure.

To share a file I must invite your dropbox account to view it?

Just put it in your Public Dropbox folder, then in Windows, go to the Dropbox folder, right-click the file and use the "Copy Public Link" command to copy the link to the Clipboard. Then you can paste it here into your post.
