Dimension Maker Favourites

Can Dimention Maker settings be saved as Favourites?

I would be nice to be able to assign a predefined Dimension Maker to every new window or door. Now it takes me more time to refefine the Maker than the window.

The D/W Marker settings are saved with the Door/Window Favorite.

That's what I found too! Which means if you open a new window, especially a custom made one, you should start customizind the Dimention Maker from scratch!

I would be nice to be able to copy/paste setting from one Marker to another like with the Alt key, wouldn't it?

You could use the syringe inside the Window Settings dialog to help ease your pain.

Cheers,

This how I work, Link!

For a new custom window first I take a Window Ribbon from my favorites, then change its size to the size of the custom window and place it on plan. Then select it, open it and Ctrl+Alt click the custom window.

Shall I make a poll for this?

You can open the Marker object in the Library Part Editor and set all of your preferred parameters. Once you save and close the Object, the Marker settings will default to your saved configuration.

Thank you, David! Great tip!

I still think it should be better to have favourites for the Marker too!

You could use the label tool instead to mark your doors and windows. Using the "Label Objects" command they remain associative and can be saved as favorites on their own separately from the doors or windows. Plus, they have layer control which the internal ones do not.

I can't think of a reason to use the internal markers rather than the label tool. Much more flexibility.

Rex, I cannot find a way to fully substitute the door marker with label. I payed with it and actually found out some features I didn't know. The best result is shown in fugire "1". But the way we describe doors and windows in my country is shown in fugure "2".

Maybe you can extract that symbol from the macro that the doors and windows use for dimension and save it with a label library subtype. Then it would be available to use with the label tool.
