It´s normal to have 776 materials on list?

I´m little confused. I have been working on AC8.1 on my last project, having already AC9.0, why? because, I don´t want to have the same mistake of the large list of materials.

When i´m working on a new project, I usually exlpore all my library objects, and uploaded to place them, and then the problem begins, when I apply a material to a wall, and appears a large long list, so. I know that there´s another better way to organize all this materials, I´ve tried on menu, option, administrator of attributes, and then what´s next, I purge the ones are not selected? or what is the best way to order all these mess?

Which materials are the default ones, and what happen if I open a file of AC8.1 with AC9.0 Does this mistake is going to create on AC9.0?

I also tried to organize the library objects saving the file to .pla but I´m not pretty sure to do this everytime I work on a new project. Is that correct, or there´s another better way?

Just imagine for example, if I need glass material (vidrio in spanish), I need to scroll down for a large time. I think I have to much materials, that I don´t need it.

Try a NEW AND RESET to re-establish the basic system.

Then import the attributes you want to build the new library with.

Then, in combination with the workspace you've defined, save a template.

Viola.

I cope with a large library by renaming material with spaces in front to pop them to the top of the list. Messy and temporary. Just like me.

You might also notice the numbers are not consecutive. You have nowhere near 776 actual materials defined.

Dwight, thanks for your reply. Just to be sure how can I RESET? on Mac
and Tom I know that this is not 776, but almost is maybe 600 aprox.I don´t attached all the list. just an idea.

One more question, we know that there are some places to download free libraries of AC, why sometimes some materials have lost, is that the reason, that maybe they are not made well, or what is it?
