I wrote in the German GDL Forum about this topic some years ago.
There are shown different ways.

If you do not understand any word written there, I can translate the preferred version.
All sample objects (And other) are download.b-prisma.de/objekte.zip
A demo of my latest favorite version is www.b-prisma.de/publisher/htmls/satteldach_demo.html
(you need web control installed).
Since ArchiCAD 10 there are new ways to make page turning.
But I haven't tested them until now.

The new commands in AC 10 seem more to help in organizing the pages than in doing the graphic. e.g. UI_CURRENT_PAGE index.
The old methods worked out by Jochen and Olivier to not work very well in AC10 on Windows. A simple MouseOver on the checkbox covering picts fade them out and you see the checkbox. This happend in AC9 (and AC 10 on Mac) only if you clicked and dragged the cursor away.
Maybe there is something nice to do with UI_INFIELD{3}.
