Old Library Parts

I have collected a number of old and useful non-Graphisoft library parts from the AC 6.5 & 7 days. Can I safely use these old library objects with AC 9?

Our older library parts work fine.

We have a few dating back to 6.5, that seem to work fine in 9

Our office has recently upgraded to ArchiCAD 9. We are using a symbol from v6.5 and the symbols are reseting. The symbol from v6.5 is a keynote: circle with a text # inside. These are reseting to default (text :#1). This is the only library part that is affected.

We continue to lose this information periodically. Any suggestions to rectify this issue?

I also use a number of library parts created in AC 6.5.
Perhaps superstitiously, I have, at the desktop, duplicated each part,
put the duplicates into a new folder, opened each one in AC 8.1, corrected
any parameter settings that are wrong (line types, fill types, etc.)
and saved.
This updates the parts and gives them the subtype data and obligatory
parameters of a native 8.1 library part.
In AC 9.0, just to be "safe", I go through the same process.
This may be nonsense but it might cause some file updating
that fixes problems with objects created in earlier versions.
Thank you,
Peter Devlin
