Picture Preview for 2D Objects

Can anybody tell me the best way to create a Picture Preview of a 2D object? I've tried all sorts of ways -- cutting and pasting at different scales/sizes -- and it is very hit-or-miss, usually resulting in an image that is nearly illegible. ArchiCAD Help nicely documents the creation of a 3D image, but information on 2D symbols seems to be lacking...

Laura,
Often, I have had to change the scale of the library part 2D editing window
and also temporarily increase the line weight of the pens used by
the library part before copying the 2D window and pasting into the
preview picture window.

Your source window should be at 128x128 pixels. Then the preview will go nicely.

So, if you are rendering an image, set the rendering/3D window size to 128x128. If you are copying a 2D preview, just make it squarish.

of course you can also use a screenshot tool or a picture editor program
in some cases this may be easier

For objects that look OK on the screen in the floor plan in 128 pixels or less then inserting the object in a floor plan, looking at it at the scale you want with the display options you want, and taking a screen capture works great and shows you exactly what you will be seeing when using it.

If the object is large enough that it will never look good on the screen in 128 pixels then it will need a larger screen capture and scaling it down in Photoshop (what I use is the bicubic whatever option, which I have no clue what it is but works great, far better than any other I tried).
