Problem With Wall and GDL

Anonymous
Not applicable
Recently I was making a retail display rack, and I made it on ArchiCad using slabs and walls and some opening to get my design.
I used the parallel projection to get the top view for the rack. Then I save it as an editable GDL object. When I try to use this object again, I can't find the wall with the rounded opening that I have made!!!!
Does anybody have a clue?
Thanx

If you save a project as object all selected elements will be translated to GDL-statements (or to a binary format) into the object. There's no way to edit the object graphical. You just can edit the statements. If you want to make changes, you have to save the project again. So keep a backup.

If your designed rack contains windows and/or other GDL-stuff (like objects) they are not embedded into your new object. You have to keep them loaded to the active library to get the complete model.

I keep a special 'hidden' layer for creating one off objects so I can adjust and replace the earlier version of the object. It is a bit slow but quicker than 2D drafting.

I save modules of the thing I make; saved my skin more than once ...

Of course, the prerequisiteis that you use always the same library and that the libraries are always at the same place ...
