electric meter fill

Hi can someone help me change this "insulation" fill on the electric meter object?  I can't find it anywhere.

I just downloaded that object from BIMComponents.

It seems to have no parameters to adjust the fill.

When an object is to be shared, it should have parameters for all attributes used so they can be adapted for different templates.

You can't edit the object because it is password protected.

And Graphic Overrides won't work as it is an object.

My only suggestion is to place a fill over the top.

Or explode it leaving the original (for 3D) and that will create fills that you can change.

You could try make a top level object and see if they used the standard GS fill parameters.

CALL "Electric Meter" PARAMETERS ALL,
		gs_cont_pen = [some contour pen],
		gs_fill_pen = [some foreground pen],
		gs_back_pen = [some background pen],
		gs_fill_type = [a fill of your choosing]

If it works, you can add those parameters to the parameter list so that you can easily edit them. Do note, that by doing this you will not be able to edit any of the original objects parameters that you cannot identify as you will not be able to pass through the relevant values. Any that you cannot identify and pass a value to will remain what ever the default value is within the object.

It seems the creator did not use those parameters when making the object.

The pens and fills seem to be hard coded in the script, but there is no way to see without the password.

When you select the original object and then save that as an object, you will see in the new object script the parameters it calls...

call    "Electric Meter",
    PARAMETERS 	A =            1,
				B =            1, ZZYZX =            1,
				AC_show2DHotspotsIn3D =      0,
				ac_bottomlevel =            1,
				ac_toplevel =            0,
				panel_width =       0.2032,
				panel_depth =       0.1524,
				panel_height =       0.3556,
				meter_elev =       0.2032,
				meter_dia =       0.1016,
				meter_depth =       0.0635,
				bdrop =      1,
				drop_height =       2.7432,
				drop_position =       0.0254,
				drop_dia =       0.0508,
				drop_rot =            0,
				panel_mat = materialAttribute_1,
				meter_mat = materialAttribute_2,
				drop_mat = materialAttribute_1

Just out of curiosity, in case those parameters were hidden, I added the parameters you suggested but they don't work as it seems they weren't used as parameters at all.

quickest workaround, GDLless, if it only matters for this project: just trace the object with the fills you want, in the same layer; move the fills up so that they cover the object, save object and fills as a module

would selecting the object and converting to a morph be an option?

You could always save that morph as an object, and then create any additional parameters and whatever else within the new object GDL.
