error code GDL XML I/O

hi,

if I want open a not existing file with the XML-Add-On all the scripts don´t work anymore.
Even the instruction INPUT - "GetLastError".
How can I finde out if the file is existing without a crash of the scripts?

I have the same problems by using the Text I/O and Data I/O
