string location in text file

Hi all,

I'm working on a Keynote tool for a client and wondering if anyone knows the script for returning the row and column numbers of a specific string.

Returning the string using the location is easy, but can I go the other way around and return the location using the string. It sounds like it should be straight forward but i'm a little sleep deprived at the moment.
