Are you using a cloud license or a software license?
Barry.
Monday
Im using cloud licence and every time i have to release the license
Tuesday
With cloud licenses, you can set them to be 'floating' or 'named' in the Graphisoft ID website.
A floating license will automatically return to the company pool within 30 minutes of closing Archicad.
It will then be available for you (or anyone else in your company) on any other machine when you sign into Archicad using your Graphisoft ID.
If you have more floating licenses in your pool, the next available one will be used, so you could have Archicad open on a number of machines at the same time.
They are not assigned to a specific user, just allocated as required.
A named license will not automatically return to the pool, but if you remember, you can return it yourself as you close Archicad.
But there is no need.
If you try to use Archicad on another machine, as you sign in with your Graphisoft ID (this is usually automatic), Archicad will tell you the license is in use and asks if you want to release it so you can use it.
It takes an extra minute or two, but it will open the license website and allow you to release the license from the other machine so you can now use it.
Much better than software licenses where you could not access them at all on another machine unless they were released on the old machine.
There was no way to force them to release like we can with the cloud licenses.
I find the floating licenses can be a problem if the license server goes off-line or your internet is not stable.
The named licenses seem to be better as they are transferred to the machine.
You just have to remember to release them if changing machines or put up with the extra minute of=r two it takes to release it remotely.
Barry.
