2D drawing (worksheet related)

Whether I'm working in elevations, sections, or especially wall sections, there always comes a point when I need to convert the auto model into a 2d drawing. From what I can tell, copying and pasting everything has the exact same effect as making a worksheet. But either way, everything becomes overly complicated when what used to be a wall or element, and should just be a fill with an outline, becomes a fill with a separate line for every edge of the fill. Is there a way to fix this issue? What am I missing? Thanks!

Actually you shouldn't have to convert your elevations, sections et al to drawings, just keep them on auto.

I don't always have to with elevations and bldg sections, but with wall sections its near impossible to just "draw over" the auto ones when I'm trying to put in a custom window or structural member not available in 3d. You can only put empty fills over so much until you start losing a lot of precision when adjusting them to line weights, etc.

Then check the consolidate fills command to see if it helps. Though I still think it might be recommended to develop a procedure to handle Wall Sections live since they are "mostly" like regular sections.
