3D Grids and Backgrounds

Hi There,

In a few cases I have been having this issue in 3D mode where the Grid appears and I don't want it to. I then go into the Grids and Background settings and then turn the sliders off in the bottom right area of the settings window as shown in the two screenshots attached.
Even, when I disable grid display in the toolbar, the lines disappear but it leaves the solid background colour.
Basically, I want to make this default so that every time I go into the 3D window or re-open the file, The 3D grid (both lines and background) are automatically off.

The grid you are seeing in the 3D window is called the editing plane. Its visibility is not controlled by the 2D grid settings..

Great,
But I only want the editing plane visible when I select something to edit or create.
So if I turn off the editing Plane, for my visibility, then I won't have it when I actually need it to edit or create elements.

Show Editing Plane During Editing Operations Only
If the Editing Plane Display toggle is on (View > Editing Plane Display) – and it is on by default – you can still limit its appearance using this checkbox, at Options > Work Environment > On-Screen Options.
If you check this box, the Editing Plane will appear only during the time you are actively editing in the 3D window (provided that the “Editing Plane Display” toggle is turned on.) When you are done with the operation, the Editing Plane disappears.
