3d dwg import

Hi all,
Sorry should have included this in last post. I know a lot of questions have been asked about this but couldnt find an anwser to this problemo.
Trying to bring in a 3d dwg into AC from 3ds max. However, im only getting 2d plan info when it comes in. Ive tried the .3ds import plugin but AC crashes whenever i try and import using it. Any ideas on how to get 3d info into AC as a dwg?

It talks about Volo Viewer, is there one for Mac?

I have been looking for a DXF viewer for the Mac that was not
too expensive for years. I finaly ran across this item.
The software was developed by SolidWorks.

I have not used it enough to know how well it works but it's free.
