AC 17, Moving in 3D, Auto level assignement

Hi,
AC17 is great really, But it's really annoying, In 3D view when I move object (form, wall, slab...) in heigt AC auto change the level assignment. And it is not a good thing !!!

Is there a way to disable this auto-function?

While we wait you can use "Relink Home Story" command to move objects to another story without them jumping in height.

Its effect would be that the program would remember its exact vertical position relative to the Project Origin and it would keep it even if Story Levels are changed. Home Story offset would be recalculated in such a case to keep its vertical height above Project Origin the same.

What do you guys think?

when changing home story element gets elevated. For those who are trying here to explain me that this is good new feature:
sometimes I need to model elements on floors on which I don't want them to be shown. Example I have a house with different roof elevations. One roof is on 1st floor and the second roof is on 2nd floor, but I want those roofs to be shown on 3rd floor which I use for roof. Similar is terrain. Terrain is often on the same elevation as ground floor but I want it to be shown separately on another story on which I draw situation.
What will happen with this if we have half-stories. Ground floor is +-0,00, while first story is only +1,5 while second story is +3,0???
In AC16 I could've decide on which story something should be shown.

I have had the same experience recently with discovering this new "feature", it wasnt very pleasant.

But then prehaps GS hasa good reason to make this change that we are not aware of. Is there a new approach to working with archicad that would mean that using this feature makes sense?

I wish GS would make more of an effort to explain the overall work flow that these features fit into for them to make sense.

I would also like to see a tutorial that demonstrates with a concrete working example how the new intelligent connections feature show be used in both new build and refurb projects.

We have considered your feedback which pointed that many of you found the workflow in ArchiCAD 16 more useful, so we have decided to change the current default setting in an ArchiCAD 17 hotfix. By default after the hotfix the home story won't change if you drag an element across stories, but you will still have the opportunity to change the fix story assignment to automatic.

Katalin - do you mean a hotfix was already issued, or it's going to be issued soon? My archicad says its up to date, but I still have the problem. This has been driving me insane - even when I remember to check, it's like trying to work with a chronic case of hiccups.

What about the elevation change when reassigning elements' home stories? This is a HUGE problem for me. I REALLY need this to go back to the way is was.

Where is this Relink Home Story command? I have yet to find any way to change elements' story assignments without them jumping around.

My subscription is up for renewal this month and this has me questioning whether it's worth it.

Our whole office has also become frustrated with this feature integration
I personally find it quite annoying you cant just assign it to floors as with previous archicad versions

there should be an option that this is auto level assignment is OFF by default
and if the few people that might benefit from this feature had the option to switch it on that would be good for them.

getting frustrated with constantly having to "relink home story" everytime I adjust something in 3d and it drops to the lowest story in plan disappearing from the floorplan in 2d it was once on.

cant wait for this HOTFIX any ideas how far away it will be?
