AC 27 / copy elements between Design Options

I’m currently exploring Design Options in Archicad more intensively for the first time, and I’m missing the ability to copy elements between two Design Options.

Does this option not exist, or am I missing something?

At the moment, I’m working around it by copying an element — for example, a wall — to the side, then switching the Design Option, and moving it back into place.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information about this online. In most demos, elements are usually linked from the Main Model to a Design Option, and in the end, that Design Option is copied along with all its elements. However, in everyday work, it often happens that you overlook elements that also need to be adjusted.

AFAIK, there isn’t such functionality. I also copy the elements manually and then assign them to another Design Option. Having a direct way to copy or duplicate elements between Design Options would definitely be a useful feature!

It would also be great to have the ability to copy elements from the Main Model to multiple Design Options at once (or to all Design Options within a set).

This may help:

- select the elements

- hit CTRL-C 'copy'

- click somewhere to annihilate selection

- hit CTRL-V 'paste'

- click outside of running ants to complete

- click 'undo' > new elements vanish 😮

- click 'redo' > elements reappear and are selected 🤗

- use palette to reassign to Design Option

@vlahtinen thank you very much! I agree with you, these two features are essential to the tool.

Thanks, @Stefan L_ . This method was also suggested in the German forum. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work (for example, in 3D).
