AC10 zooming in 3D- frustrating... please help!!

Hi everyone...I am new here and I have a question about AC10...

Why there is no "simple zoom" in 3D window, like the earlier versions have? I just want to zoom in to a small area of the perspective view without changing any of the camera parameters, just like zooming in to a 2D image. I used to love that feature in AC9. Now when I zoom in, the whole perspective parameters change... the model rebuilds and it takes considerable time to do that. Now i am forced to go back to AC9 because of this.

Please Advise
Thanks

Robin

Thank you Matthew for the reply.

I agree with you, All these new tools are great to play around with, especially on a relatively lite model. But when you have a really big file and you dont want to 3D filter everything out these tools are almost of no use. Most of the time I need to look at the model from a specific camera location and height (for example from the window on the 23rd floor of another building in the neighbourhood) which kind of forces me set my camera and its parameters on the floor plan itself. Then all I need is to be able to use my zoom window without changing my camera parameters and save the specific zoomed views. AC9 was great for this, not AC10.

I did try Classic 3D navigation. That does not help me either to do a simple zooming.

I will soon give up trying and go back to AC9 or switch to REVIT.

Right, because you should either limit yourself to using AC9 for the rest of your life or use Revit, which will obviously do everything you could ever want.

Why not just report this to your reseller as a bug? Maybe it would be fixed in a service pack at some point in the future.

Tom, I will report it. I have already added this to the wishlist in this forum.
