Finally migrated one of my current projects to AC10! What a pleasure to work without bugs and screen-flickering!
kliment wrote:I would rather prefer better compatibility forward (properly opened old projects in newer version).
It took me half a day for a small project to reassign all the library parts from AC11 to A10, because thereis notbackward compatability, as Stefan mentioned before. When Doors and Windows change they do not remember their pens, door panels and even he position of the Dimension makers! Everything has to be started from scratch!
kliment wrote:If this is just for overview, tell him to install AC11 as a demo. You can use it without the key. If this is for production - never try to work on two different version of the software on the same project. Really.
Which meansit is not possibleto send your project to a colleague who is working on AC10! You have to make it dwgso he could see it right!
kliment wrote:I'm not sure how teaching a class is forcing you to use newer version for real project production? Just use AC11 during classes. Luckily both version can be installed on the same computer.

I don't understand the reasoning here. No one is forcing you to upgrade as soon as the new version CD arrives.
I had to upgrade because I teach AC at the university. I even risked to make the above mentioned small project in AC11. Lucky me I did not start with the large one which I am finishing now!

Kliment: You mentioned "Screen flickering". I don't suppose that you are using SLI cards in your machine are you? As I have suffered from the same problem. Yet it is not a problem with AC, it is a problem with the cards and the SLI Bridge. It can be solved in some cases by simply removing the cards and swapping them over. The new drivers also solve some glitches.
