Alcove under the stairs

Hi,
Im relatively new to using archicad, so it's taking me some time to fiddle around. I was wondering how could I create an alcove under a set of stairs not unlike in the picture below


I've already created the set of stairs using the slab tool. But have no idea what is the next step to take. Please help!! thanks heaps

Use solid element opperations, as described here:
