ArchiCAD 11 will come soon (as much as I suspect..)
What can AC 11 do better than AC10?

I might suggest from a user rather than a cashflow basis that longer upgrade cycles are preferable as bugs in existing versions are never fixed before we are asked to pony up, interrupt workflows & learn new features.

Running a practice offers quite a different perspective than merely being a cad monkey - cad is simply one small component of a much bigger sphere of concern.

Statute of limitations on liability is one example which also ties into reuse of past project data & details, which basically means I must keep access to projects for 15 years ie projects that were started in 1991. This is one area that is staring to become a burden given that at best we can look back to v6.5 projects currently from a library part standpoint.

I would also prefer to see GS pursue revenues by broadening the user base & getting v10 working flawlessly on all 'supported' platforms (intel mac still has major bugs), with templates & all the discontinued library parts (a dining room table would be nice) that will maximize legacy project access, rather than trying to generate revenue by fragementing the user base with increasing upgrade frequency...

Totally agree. I would much prefer an .5 version that fixes some of the major bugs and basic usability issues. Working with and Managing ArchiCAD 10 in a mixed office of Intel Mac, G5's and a few mics G4 is a royal pain. and even on the best and fastest machine it can be slow and buggy at times. And for the price of archicad i still can not believe that its not multiprocessor aware (multi-threaded) and that if it they sell this a an all in one drafted, modeling, and rendering app that you can not can not do distributed rendering to multiple machines.

It is quite a handful running your own practise and learning all the new/changed elements & aspects of AC10 whilst trying to remain productive...as many of those on this forum no doubt know! For this simple but important reason I believe that it is important to have fewer, but fully engineered & debugged, 'New Versions' (as opposed to maintenance releases).

That said, I would love to see Graphisoft work with Google to adopt/license the tools in SketchUp 6 such that the SketchUp method of generating 3D forms can be applied to the AC10 tool set (walls, slabs, roofs, library part generation, etc...). I appreciate that this may be 'much easier said than done' in programming terms ... but, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

That alone would warrant an ArchiCAD 11 release for me....

a search on the net about archicad 11 will show some information. The basic idea? Dont get excited. Archicad 11 wont be a major update (certainly much less in the new version than we had from 9 to 10 and more like what we had from 8 to 9)

7 was a great verstion, then 9 still is a great version (the last version to support DUCTWORK)....then 11 , cuz of the odd number again, might be another good version.

When when?
I hope it will be available with out a dongle. It is a real pain for me when I am using my laptop. It gets bumped, broken, or damages the port.

Dongle is not good for portability.

You know, Constructor is not using dongle. There are pros and cons. What if you want temporarily work on different computer?

AC 11 is very nice, but AC 10 is also very nice.
AC 10 is nice enough to work.
AC 11 comes too early.
I will use AC 10 further because I need still time to be used to use AC 10.

I liked Archicad 10 a lot.
For Archicad 11, the words that comes to mind are "underwhelmed" and "point release" (as in Archicad 10.1)
