License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Archicad 24 Update 3022 Released

Dear all,

Yesterday we have made the first Archicad 24 Update 3022 available. We have created packages for the INT, USA, AUS, UKI, NZE, GER and AUT versions so far and they all passed our Quality Control.

The “Check for Updates” feature will notify end users about the new version. We will keep testing the rest of the language versions and release them as they pass our Quality Control.

This update is relevant to the currently released versions of Archicad 24. All the upcoming Archicad 24 releases will contain the fixes of this update.
You may read the List of Improvements here, while the update installers are available on the Support > Downloads section of our website.

Should you have any questions or feedback, please let me know!

Best regards,
Minh

Hi all,

we just installed the update a couple of days ago hoping it would solve some sporadic crashes we were suffering, but I would say that it just got worst! Is someone else experiencing this? I hope it will be solved soon with a future update!
We are working using MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 and with projects on BIMserver
Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

Thank you very much for your report and I am very sorry about the experience!

We made many fixes to prevent some critical crashes with the first update of Archicad 24. But if you are experiencing some random crashes on Catalina (which seems to be case here), it is a heap corruption crashes with Apple machines using AMD card. There is a problem with the driver used by Apple that triggers this behavior.

We notified Apple about this, at the same time, we are developing a workaround, that will be introduced in the second update of AC24. Until then, I can only suggest closing AC before putting the computer to sleep, or avoid leaving it idle in the background.

Once again, I am very sorry for the inconveniences! If you have any further questions, feel free to ask me again!

Best regards,
Minh

I got some info from GS HQ. AC24 build 3022 was a Hotfix, but the next Update for Archicad 24 is coming soon, we will keep you posted about it.

Hi Minh,

I would like to give you some more feedback:

while we wait for version 4000 to be released as a regular update we are still working on 3022 and still experiencing crashes, nothing new there.
What I want to report is related to the recovery of files after a crash:
I have been always very pleased on how good is Archicad at recovering information after a crash, but recently we are having issues: we are working as a team in BIMcloud and quite often after a crash everything gets lost, we have encountered two scenarios: after a crash we are able to open the recovered file but everything that was changed since the latest "send and received" is gone...I guess we should send and receive more often but there must be another way, we have our settings as "ultra safe" but it doesn't seem to help.
The other scenario is worst: after a crash if we try to open the file archicad says that it is corrupted and it is not possible to open it, the only way forward is to delete the user from that project in the bimserver and rejoin the project.

The aim of this post is just to make you aware of issues that could be improved. Looking forward to the final version of 4000 that hopefully will make our life much easier.

Regards,
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

Thank you very much for your report and I am very sorry about the crashes!

Update 3022 and 4000's main purpose is to fix the most critical crashes and defects with Archicad 24. There might be some crashes that could cause corruption in the saving process. If you encounter such issues, I would suggest contacting your local support, in order to see whether the corrupted file can be repaired or not.

I hope that with the next release of Archicad 24 Update 2, these issues will be fixed totally. If you see any further crashes, feel free to drop me a message with some description about the crash and the bugID. I will do a quick check in our database to see if it's a known issue or not.

Thank you very much for your understanding!

Best regards,
Minh

I can't seem to access the 3022 update for version 24. When I go online to support and download the latest version it always downloads build version 3008. When I select 'about archicad' it says I'm on build 3008. I used to be able to see multiple build versions on the website but it appears to have been reformatted and that is no longer an option?

When I select 'check for updates' it only tells me my Revit Exchange is out of date, and doesn't even mention that there is an update for archicad itself. What's the deal? We have a doze FULL copies of the software.

Hi Jeff,

There are dozens of country-specific versions of AC with updates all released at different times... you should mention (or better, create a forum signature) what version you're using when asking a question like this 🙂

Guessing that you are a USA customer... we are now on preview build 4000. So, the issue of 3022 is moot at this point unless you need it to work with others on Teamwork. Both 3022 USA and 4000 USA can be downloaded from the link given in the original post in this thread which eventually leads you to:

https://graphisoft.com/resources-and-support/downloads?localization=USA&type=AC&version=24

Scroll to the bottom portion of that page to see the download options for updates.

As preview versions, apparently they were never activated via the normal "Check for Updates" function.

Cheers,
Karl
