Yep - I'm off the train - cancelled my subscription a few months ago. ... Goodbye Graphisoft.
Graeme, what BIM solution would you use then?
Revit? Autodesk seems to be on a path of licensing per user per project all cloud based to keep you committed to a subscription to keep access to your data.
Vectorworks? Very much a niche product.
Digital Project? Very capable, very expensive and makes Vectorworks user base look huge.
Bentley Aecosim?

For me Archicad is the best solution available today giving good tools, workflows, interface etc to allow me to deliver projects from small fitouts to hospital redevelopments.

Scott,
I am still using Archicad 23 - I am just no longer going to update it. It is a lot of money for me and the benefits are simply not worth it. The last 3-4 years have all been disappointing for me in terms of Archicad 'improvements'.

Hi Richard. I can't recall a consensus of users "not" wanting new features in a new release. As far as fixing what we've got, that's what hotfixes are for; not upgrades/new releases.

I just don't see the benefits that a small firm gets by shelling out $800 per license except "not" to get gouged when v25 comes out by being over a version behind.

It seems like we update without knowing what the new release is going to bring
-- not always what we want or need --
I think the secretive way graphisoft does releases creates the problem .

But hey, there were all those new furniture objects!

And those 2 panel doors with the huge beveled panels that can't be adjusted.
Oh, wait... those are the same doors from version 9.

Seriously... all I want for version 25 is a revamped
window/door tool... á la CI tools, but better.

Well, I feel that for small firms there are not so much novelties. Python and Param-o are interesting, but more a long term thing. Mep integration instead of being a paying feature was a must. Maybe the new objects and textures are great, will see when our version comes out. Am I forgetting something? No new tools or mentions of fixing interface inconsistencies.

And the new integrations with Nemetschek products are understandable but worrying, as it seems to mark a departure from the openbim vision that Graphisoft has been defending until now.
Can't agree more. This focus on Nemetschek environment is understandable as worrying. We need to be able to introduce any software and join any team in our workflow, not only those who use Nemetschek products. Under this approach will be smaller year after year

Actually I think AC24 has very great improvements, but for me and for small/medium firm it is disappointed.
But I can't say it is not necessary or not important.
I think Graphisoft should work on both side, while it works on BIM improvement it should work on renew old tools fix or update old ones.
I mean if every two years they update one tool it will take 10 years for get a complete new tools
(Door and windows sky light /cornerwin/ shell/roof/endwall/slab/ mesh and land scape/ramp ) all this tool need to recreat with ability of 3d editing.
And of course they should complete old tool .
For example.
Ramp tool should come with stair tool in AC 21
Open tool which came AC 23 .came with only cirle or rectangle shape and they said( in the conference and youtube channel) it will come in polygonal shape next updat now after 3 Update and a new version nothing happened .

again I think AC24 has great improvements but I am afraid while GS focus on big firm companies and compete revit I am afraid it loose their base of small and medium company

Hi,

I'm french architect, user of archicad since 1992... I'm very, very, very disappointed by this new version of archicad.

Nothing new for architect.
No update for stairs (more than 360° helicoidal stair...).
No update for renovation tools
No update for windows or doors, while the new tool "whole"in 23 implied goog news.
No new features on section, like stamp in area
No.... there are so much things communauty wait for !!!!!

And mostly, no enhancement of composit walls ! WE NEEDS TO MODIFY EVERY LAYER INDEPENDENTLY.

Graphisoft, you do not listen the users. Is ther architects on your teams ? True architects, in exercise ? Archicad must take into account the real ways to build !!!!

Please, listen to us !!!!!!
