Can't create custom opening (grayed out)

image.png

Hi! as the title says, I regularly need to use custom openings directly in elevation. But that setting is not available (is grayed out) also in floor plan...?

but it is grayed out! I intended to do hole in the slab/box for fireplace or niches in the wall (very simple)

Any solution to it or it is not suppose to work in interior elevation for some reason?

Your image shows that the irregular shaped polygon input method is active.

You just need to draw the shape.

Or do I misunderstand what you want?

This works well thank you, I got confused by the "custom" option that was grayed out (and is grayed out through the whole projects). For some reason I thought the custom option would be for this. Do you know what it is for?

Thank you as always!

That is for the alignment for how you want it to be placed in the element.

'Custom' can't be used when placing the opening though.

It can only be used once the opening has been placed.

From the help file ...
