Comflor

Anybody got any ideas on how to quickly and efficiently (from a polygon point of view) model a Comflor slab?

My two ideas are:
1. Just do a composite and put a drafting fill in the relevant sections. This doesn't model the undulation of the slab soffit though.
2. Create a complex profile for the standard sheet width and profile to use with the beam tool, then place a separate slab over the top as the topping. Problem is that this is polygon heavy, work intensive (having to place a lot of 'beams' to make up the slab area) and limited in its flexibility.

Any other useful ideas would be great.

Hi Bruce

You can 'wing' it using the "Pre-cast slab builder" accessory under CADImage libraries (for those who have the CADImage tools).
First draw the slab extent, then select it and choose "Slab accessories" under Design->Design Extras. Choose the "Pre cast" accessory - in the test I have done I used the Double T section with custom settings (600 wide by 60mm deep, 5mm thick section) - see attached screen shot.
At a guess we could ask CADImage to add steel tray profiles to the accessory tool.

Good thinking. I do have Cadimage tools, but didn't think of that one. Nice going!
