Hey everyone!
I’m looking for a method to copy 3D elements (specifically walls and curtain walls) from one Archicad 28 file to another. The goal is to transfer these elements from an older version of my project into the current one. Any tips or workflows you can recommend would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Operating system used: Windows 10

Hi!
Do the projects share the same origin?
If so, I would group everything I need in 3D (watch out for renovation statuses so they are the same) etc. Then go into the same floor plan in both files and hit ctrl V in the destination file. Check after you place them that you have the same number of elements (top left corner) as when you copied.
ex:
Then everything should work ok. I have used this to copy elements from IFC files (by opening them in a separate Archicad).
If the projects do not share the same origin and you need to center the files onto the model, I would copy 2 perpendicular grid elements, use them to center the pasted elements and delete just the 2 extra grids afterwards.
Hope it helps!

Hey, it worked perfectly for my case! I only lost 6 elements out of 224, which is quite acceptable (it was roughly just one wall and a few doors). Saved me a lot of time. Thanks so much for the great tip—I really appreciate it!

Ideally you shouldn’t want to lose anything. You should pay attention to what elements are missing and learn to include them in the future as well.
