Hi there,
I would like to create a pitched curtain wall that is pitched in elevation. Is there a way to do this with the curtain wall setting or do I have to make a custom morph to suit? I want the curtain wall to follow the blue line.
Thanks
Claudia

You can modify the boundary polygon of the Curtain Wall. See the attached screenshot.
Go to Edit Mode (you can do it in an Elevation View), activate the Scheme Grid and hide all other components (you can do this by right-clicking the Scheme Grid row of the menu in the upper left.
Then, you can edit the boundary just like you can edit any fill type element - insert a Node, drag a Node, etc.
Then click "Exit Edit Mode" to accept changes.

You have two options
Option 1 Element Operations
Get the Solid Element Operations (SOE) palette from Design on the Menu bar. Pick curtain wall panel and click on Add as target on SOE, and pick the roof objects and click on Add as operator on SOE, then pick Subtraction with Upward Extrusion on Choose Operation on SOE, and thin click on execute. The part of the curtain wall above the roof is cut off.
The disadvantage of this approach is that it does not create any boundary frame on the junction with the roof, if a boundary frame is specified. I think computationally it is more expensive than the second option, and I am not sure how it works with scheduling elements correctly regarding excluding the cut part.
The advantage of this approach is that the cut shape remains tied to the form of the cutting object, if you alter the roof, the cut shape of the curtain wall follows the modified shape of the roof. So it could be useful when you are still iterating many ideas.
Option 2 Boundary Geometry Method for Curtain Wall Creation
Go to elevation or 3d, where you can see the profile in which you want to fit the curtain wall. Select the Curtain Wall in the toolbox, and in the Geometry Method for how you want to model your curtain wall pick Geometry. And draw whatever boundary shape of curtain wall you desire.
The advantages and disadvantages are basically flipped from the option 1 method. With this method you can also creating more shapes that can practically be achieved with SOE.

The main downside I find with using the boundary option is that it does not do curves. In those cases I create a frame piece using the same tool as what ever the boundary element is and SEO against that.
