Creating a slanted wall in elevation

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello everyone.

I am a Revit user trying to learn archicad so please bare with me. I am trying to change the profile of a wall so that the wall instead of ending 90 degrees has a slant on the end. Not in its side profile which seems quite easy do to with the slat wall option or the profile manager but rather what I would see in elevation.

Thanks

Gavin

First of all, welcome to Archicad. It will be interesting to get your perspectives on Archicad from a Revit frame of mind.

Do you mean that you want to miter the ends, as though it was connecting to another wall? Or do you mean you want the end of the wall to lean away from the end of the wall?

If you mean something like this, it's pretty easy. If the wall joins a slanted wall, it will do the join automatically as shown. If not, as shown on the other side, I am using a slanted wall (just like the opp. side) on a different layer (Solid Element Operator) and do a "Subtraction w/ upwards extrusion". I left the layer on in wireframe mode so you can see the operator.

Sorry, I know not too clear. This image should clear it up.

This is easily done using a roof to trim the end of the wall
at any angle and if you use trim to roof rather than SEO
then you can delete the roof after performing the trim.

It is interesting.
As far as I know a Wall Profile in Revit means its shape looking from its side.
In ArchiCAD, the Profile of a Wall means its cross section.
So we have fertile ground for lots of misunderstandings.
