Curved Profiles

Hello,

I'm new to ArchiCad, and need some help. My office is trying to figure out something which is probably built into A14 already but we are oblivious at the moment.

All we really need is to make a profile follow the path of our cornice line. Which is an ARCH. If anyone could help us out, in laymen terminology. We would be much appreciated.

You need to use the Profile Manager to define a Profile. You will have to use the Fill Tool in the Profile Manager Dialog.
Walls, Beams and Column can use profiles.
You could use a curved Wall, switch it to Complex Wall mode in its Dialog or the Info Box, and assign it the Profile you created. The you will be able to model the curved profile.

But what if we wanted to apply that in a vertical context. Its an arch on a parapet wall.

We figured it out!

Just incase anyone searches this.

Create a complex wall/add the profile to the wall itself as Laszlo said.

Save the object as an embedded library, file, library and objects, open/select your object. In the first dialogue on the very top (under 3d script) , add ROTX 90. (This can also be ROTY depending on your profile or orientation.

Third, go to the (2d script) and type Project2 3,270,2

This should rotate up, and align any profile onto a vertical surface.

And for anyone who has AC16 with the Morph Tool:
Create the geometry using the Wall Tool, then convert it into a Morph and rotate it into the correct orientation in 3D.
