DOOR SCHEDULING WITH WINDOW AS A WHOLE

Nc2rnL

Hi everyone. I need help on this. I wanted to make the sidelights as part of the door and to be reflected on door schedule but I need to retain its action as Pivot. Thank you for the assistance if anyone can.

Hi,

You can use a default library part to have a door with two openable sidelights (this is a screenshot from AC27 but I'm sure there's and equivalent in AC28):

This will show up in the schedule as one unit.

Or, as an alternative, you could individually model this with a curtain wall and make that part of your overall schedule.

Have you tried creating a custom Door leaf?

Almost all of the GS door types used the same macros that are just toggled on and off in the top level object. This means that you can just open the object and toggle these features on and save it out. In your case, this would be gs_door_transomgs_sidelight_right and gs_sidelight_left. I would suggest saving it as a new object so that your modification does not get removed with any library updates.

A custom door leaf will not help in this situation.

The problem is the original poster needs a pivot door with sidelights, all in one object.

There is a pivot door object that has no sidelights and a door frame that has sidelights, but the door can not pivot.

A custom door leaf would not solve the 'pivot' problem.

The OP will need to create a completely custom door frame with sidelights and a pivot door.

The best way is probably with Library Part Maker - it will not be parametric in size though.

Or play around with the object scripts as Ling suggests.

Depending on how much time you want to save and how often you deal with similar situations with doors and windows I would get CI tools Doors and windows, it generated automatically windows and doors elevations with dimensions and you can combine them as you want.
