Hello everyone!
I cannot see my stairs in dash lines above break, why is that ?
I just want to see dash lines above break in 1st floor and then the whole stair in 2nd floor!
Thank you!!

What kind of stair? If available it should just be a parameter setting.

I mean is it StairMaker, Archistair, library parts, etc?

I probably don't have the (detailed) answer for you since I have been using custom stairs of my own for years which display the way I want automatically. The parameters should be in the parameter list of the settings dialog. The specifics will depend on the parts used.

I assume you have them set to display on the stories you want.

If you would like to see stairs in dash lines above break in first level
choose the 2d symbol type 9 or type 11 form stair selection settings.
whole stair in 2nd floor in settings from 2d above home story select show 2d under break mark and show 2d above break mark and uncheck the breakline.

if I uncheck the breakline the other two options disappear
although nothing changes. I selected the two options and with breakline on it didnt change at all and then with breakline off same thing: no change. why ?with type 11

Hi Wendy,

Maybe this screenshot can help you (you can also try with type 9 or 11).

Cheers,
Adrian Tudoreanu

P.S.: It would have been nice if we could change the line pen for the walking line in the "2D Above Home Story" representation.

Further to this thread, we are having similar display problems with Stair Maker. We need to show a stair at ground floor and first floor. With the stair shown at ground: solid below the break-line, dashed above the break-line. Then the reverse at first floor level: dashed below the break-line, solid above.

There seems to be no way of doing it, yet it's how we draw a stair as standard. In the past we've used work-arounds with 2 stairs and slabs as half-landings. Or a duplicate stair, one for ground, one for first. But surely there should be a means of doing it correctly in StairMaker??! (working in AC12)

Not sure if I'm missing something obvious but any help would be great,

Interesting, I have not heard of this kind of representation standard for stairs.
The truth is, Stair objects in AC cannot do what you are asking because they are not programmed to.
Maybe you should send a request to GS through your local reseller, telling them that there is such a standard in England and you would like it to be included in AC.
