I have this questions as well.
I am wondering if you can deal with it thourgh reference levels.
But I think not, though I donnot know much about them, but I think I should learn what they are about, cause it may save me some woes.

I have learned that you can show your window as symbolic to make it show if it is above the cutplane, but I think you have to change the way your wall is being displayed- Project, project w/overhead, I dont remeber which gets you what you want.

I think you can also display it as overhead all, and make your overhead lines show as solid.....

But, i haven't found a way that really satisfies me, because what ever I do to make it show, it does not show the same as my other windows do.

I am listening here as Well my friend.
You can play around with the cut plane parameters, of course, but have you tried "symbolic" display?
