Drawing Numbering Grid (Plotmaker)

I'm having a bit of bother with getting my plot files to pick up the correct Grid letter in the Drawing numbering grid. I have tried using the pop-up menu item to reset the Autotext reference point. But it still keeps picking up the wrong reference.

Is this a glitch in PlotMaker or am I being a muppet

One other thing I'm puzzled by is the manual shows a grid preview where one detail covers a larger area than the other details but what I get is an equally spaced grid instead. Is there some way of customising the grid cell size?

Here is the problem with the Numbering. I had a search in the Archive but couldn't see anything there of a similar nature

The problem is not entirely clear from your posts. But, I am guessing that it has to do with the positioning of the drawings on the sheet. The settings as they are shown will cause the drawings to be numbered from the lower left of the sheet based on which cell the lower left corner of the drawing is in. The little preview is to serve to demonstrate the effect on drawings of different sizes.

What is puzzling is that for example in my screenshot the detail positioned over the D area is labelling it's self C and even if I tell it to reset the Autotext Reference point to a corner in the D area it still displays C in the Title label which I highlighted in my screenshot

From your grid settings it looks like you should be able to see the grid in your layout, yet your screen shot of the details doesn't show the lines of the numbering grid. Make sure you can see the grid, you should then notice that the corner of your details which you want to be D is in the square labeled C.

The drawings are numbered based on their lower left corner position. Whichever numbered grid square contains that corner of your drawing will be the number plotmaker assigns.

Hope that's clear enough to understand.

But you should be able to change it from the bottom left to any corner you like by using the pop-up menu item. Sadly it doesn't seem to be working for me

From what I see in the picture you posted you need to have the numbering based on the upper left corner as Matthew suggested (see picture)

Also just play around with the setting above... your original question asked about this as well.

That sort of worked now one of the other details is now wrong due to it spreading across two cells. The result is I have details labelled A, B, C, D, F and G whereas before I had A, B, B, C, E G

I still think there is glitch though because according to the manual you should be able to set it yourself for each individual plot file by using the pop-up menu.

Just an up date to say that to get round the problem I just deactivated the drawing numbering grid. By placing the files in the layout in the numbering sequence I wanted that got the job done. Downside being I had to draw my own grid, which wasn't to bad to do.
