I was working on a file today, when the office lost power, When the power came back on, I started ArchiCAD, and the auto recovery window came up, and I loaded my file from there, it was perfect. Then I worked on it for about 4 more hours, saving here and there. I closed the file about an hour ago to work on something else, and I've just gone back to re-open it.. to my dismay the file has reverted back to where it was this morning, before the power outage even happened... to make the situation even worse, for whatever reason, there is no .bpn obviously losing almost an entire days work is not my idea of fun. any help with this would be much appreciated..

Cheers,
dan

Is there any possibility someone reverted your file/directory from a backup?

Is there any possibility the file was being saved in a different location than you expected? The fact that you said you saved a few times yet lack of a BPN makes me think that...

Hallo Daniel I had similar problem during power lose today 😉.
After power lose I wanted to off UPS crazy sound, but incidentally have pressed power off button on UPS.
After PC restarting and opening .pln file, warning dialog saids, that plan attributes are lose. So there was nothing in File (Full data lose). But because I know very well AC's bugs, crashes etc I always have back-up copies in separate folder that I periodically refresh and also auto-back-up is always on. So in my case .bpn has fully helped. As Tom recommends check if you have any back-up folders anywhere on you computer or server. Paths to these folders you find in Working Environment Dialog.

my hero, it was saving in a different directory, I honestly wouldn't have thought to check that.. I guess sometimes the biggest problems have the simplist solutions, eh?
