Editing Plane

I am having trouble with the editing plane.

The editing plane is staying in the first floor, I am following the learning guide provided by archicad but the video there doesn't show an editing plane like mine does.

Will this matter in the future?

What is the editing plane exactly?

And is there a way to hide it?

I attached the photos.
