Empty panels in Archicad Curtain Walls

Hello everyone.

I've got a big trouble with the curtain wall tool: Somehow, all my custom panels went missing, leaving holes that cannot be edited.
I put a custom panel as a main panel, and edited a few of them. Then for some reason all the custom panels went missing.
When I change the main panel in CW settings, I can have my edited windows back, but only the ones that were not edited. The edited ones remain empty.

I tried to delete mullions but the only effect was to make the hole bigger...

The only "solution" I found is to start from scratch the whole wall, but I'm quite scared the bug will come back and I will lose.

Have you ever met this probleme and did you find a way to fix it?

Option (or alt) -click some other panel to copy it's attributes. After that, you just need to select the panel tool from toolbar, and click the empty hole. You don't keep any keys down this time (oddly enough) as you do other times in ArchiCAD when forcing attributes to other elements, like transforming visible panels to other types of panels. There is a visual clue, a rectangle, when you are to click it. See attached pic.

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately it doesn't work since the empty hole is not identified as a panel. The rectangle gets lost in space, as you can see in the attachement...

I can see a bigger rectangle in the empty panel, which is the size of the panel. I do not refer to that little gray rectangle, which seems to be the indicator for 3D-plane orientation. You should notice a see-through rectangle. You can see the rectangle in my pic. Then you should be able to just click the hole with panel tool selected. And again, NO keys pressed at the keyboard, or it won't work.

It seems that you do it all right, but still, I can't see the "hollow", panel size rectangle, in your attached picture.

If that doesn't do it, then I've got no more tips, sorry.

Turn off all the 'layers' you see in the edit panel and only show scheme. This way you can tell if you've somehow changed the boundaries of your scheme to be actual holes inside the curtain wall.

If everything is showing as one closed shape, you should be able to do as described by mikas, use syringe to pick up settings of a panel and simply left click in the hole to put them back.

Doesn't work for me. I see the rectangle, but nothing happens. I'm using AC22.

I am able to select missing Curtain Wall Panels in Edit Mode because they have at least 1 selection hotspot.
If I draw a selection rectangle around the hotspot of the missing Curtain Wall Panel, it will select it. Then I can just use SHIFT+selection rectangle to add all missing Panels to the selection. Then I can modify them to use another Library Part.

There is another way to select multiple missing Curtain Wall Panels in a single step. You can use Schedules to do that.
The attached image shows the Schedule criteria and fields to achieve it:

I just want to place a kind of summary here.

So, if you notice that some panels are missing from your curtain wall, then it can be:

• a missing Library Part (panel object). In this case, it will be replaced with a sphere in the corner, that you can select and change it to something else.
• a missing custom Panel. In this case the "Custom Panel 22" object is still in place, it just can't find/load the custom library part to insert, but there will still be a hotspot to select the panel by.
• an empty panel (the panel was deleted). In this case, there's actually nothing there that you could select, it is empty. If you want a panel there, you just have to select the panel tool from the toolbar, and click into that empty space to insert a new panel.

In all cases, you can use the Schedule to find the parts you are looking for. Alternatively you can bring up the Find & Select palette (ctrl/cmd+f) in the Edit Mode. In Edit Mode this palette will be filtered to only search for sub-elements in the current curtain wall.

I hope this will help those facing this in the future.
