Extras/Accessories/Slab Accessories problems

AC 9 latest bug fix installed....the slab accessory seems to work OK if the foundation follows a closed polygonal slab, but go nuts when a following a jog along a portion of a slab. Seems to want to complete a closed shape- I cannot find a setting to control this.

Thanks Ben, always good to hear from a chap who gives a hoot about foundations and such. Do you get the same result?

not sure i'm following you . . .

with the slab selected, you go to Extras>Accessories>Slab Accessories... right? as soon as you complete the parameters and click OK, archiCAD outlines the slab (with holes if necessary!). see attached.

what do you mean by 'started here', etc . . . are you manually drawing it?

Ben,

I have a project where a new odd shaped floor and foundation fit between 2 existing structures, thus, 2 separate runs of foundation which turn along a few edges of the floor but do not close on themselves. So, yes, one must draw manually without preselecting the slab.

What happens when you replicate the example I attached before, just drawing foundation along those 3 edges?

ah! gotcha. doesn't like it does it? seems to want to close the polygon that you're drawing all the time. try it with just two edges!

i did manage to fool it by drawing a very thin slab along the edges you wanted - but the 2D representation isn't very happy. and there are a few clean-up issues in 3D. report it to your tech support guys with the suggestion that the slab accessory should work on a selected polyline as well as a slab?

cheers!
