I want to assign a shortcut to F1 key (other than Help), but it seems that it's not possible. How can I solve this problem?
Thank you.

My F1 key is set to something else. make sure you are re-defineing the short cut properly. Chose assign and overwrite the old one as you are prompted

I believe that F1 is locked by MS as the help key in Windows. Too bad

The biggest problem is that I cannot choose "assign" for F1 key (the "assign" button is disabled in this case). Should I do something else first?

Thank you.

Yeah, it is called a MS system key in AC10. Not the case in AC9 though. It can be changed in 9. I dunno. I don't use it in ten as I don't know a work around.
