Finding Which Layer has Information

Anonymous

Hi,
Is the Attribute Manager the only way to find out which layer has information on so I can delete the empty layers. And I remember some one mentioning Attribute Manager is not so accurate with its check marks on which layer has info. or not.
Thanks,
Joseph

The Attribute Manager does occasionally omit a check mark where there should be one, usually a layer used only for 2D elements in a section or detail.

It there is a check mark, I would believe the layer (or linetype or composite or whatever), but if there is no check mark I would read that as "probably empty" not "definitely empty"

There's more to it than meets the eye. Check James' post here where he explains it in more detail.

Tom's right though, it's a little unreliable. I always make a backup before playing around with the Attribute Manager. Then you can make sure important parts of the project aren't missing, especially in S/E's and details.
