Greater/smaller or equal than sign... How can I do it?

I want a greater or equal than sign in a text box but I don't know how to do this. (I don't know the proper word for this sign in english...sorry). For now I simply draw an extra line under the greater than sign but it seems like a stupid way...
See attached image.
Cheers,
Mats

On a mac the keyboard combo is is option period ( option full stop) and makes greater than or equal to and option comma to less than or equal to. I would guess a PC is similar

As far as I know there is no single English word to describe these symbols

Everything has a name.

In Fontographer terms these symbols are called, respectively:

"lessequal" and "greaterequal"

more obscure:

"~" is called a "tilde."

and, even more obscure:

otter poop is called "spraints."

Haha!!!
It actually took me nearly half a minute to realize that otter poop has noooothing to do with something I should expect to find on my keyboard... I feel I have to do an otter poop line type for our future save the otters project... And maybe an otter poop object to enhance realism in my models...nuff said...

I still haven't found out how to make a lesserthan symbol within a text area on my PC....

Note to keyboard users:
If your keyboard has otter poop on it, it is time to move away from the swamp.
Remember to use a gentle detergent and not a harsh abrasive cleaner.

In Character Map, U+2264 and U+2265 are the two signs you are looking for. You can Copy-Paste these into a text block of ArchiCAD from the Character Map.

Well, thank you but I don't get it to work!? It works with MS Word...
If I make a new text block in AC 8.1 and paste the greater than or equal to sign I get another sign instead (I reccon because I dont use the symbol font...). It works with the symbol font but in 100% of the cases the little nasty sign is surrounded by plain text and I dont want to create three text blocks and the try to place them so the output looks like one textblock...
Maybe I have to bite the sour apple (classic swedish saying..)!?

Found this post that is rather old but I've got the same problem in AC14.
It works to copy paste in text but if I want to place it as a prefix i a measurement it displays as equal.
Arial is used in both text and measurement.
