Grid element length adjust per story

I found that I can only control the grid element display on desire stories. But I wonder that how can I adjust the length of grid element separately on each story. I ever used the Revit and I can adjust the length separately on each floor. For example when we deal with the high rise building that has a large podium with small tower. Is there any practical way to deal with this situation.

You can copy and paste the grid elements, then you can show the longer ones on some floors and the shorter ones on other floors ....

I tried it before but this will create another copies of grid and not related to the old one. So if there is no other choice, this may be the workaround.

Yes after copying and pasting they are Not related.
