Guidelines on sloped surfaces

Hi there

I have a morph element that is on an angle (see image). I want to set up guidelines indicated by the red dashed lines in the image (90mm offset from the edges). There seems to be a few stumbling blocks in getting the guidelines to work nicely.

For example, I make a guideline on the near upper most edge then select the guideline and use the orange handle to move the line. To keep the guideline moving along the plane of the morph, i drag along one of the outer edges. The problem is that the tracker measures from the original location of the orange handle, not the corner of the shape so I can't accurately move the line.

The other option was to draw guideline segments 90mm from corners, however, I can't seem to snap to the end of the segment. Is this possible.

The dodgy work-around was to draw polylines from the corners and use those as references.

Any tips on best approach to the use of guidelines in this instance would be greatly appreciated.
