Handrail fixings disapper with invisible posts.

Am I missing something obvious or is this just not possible? (maybe it is just a Friday afternoon thing!).

I have made a glass panel railing with small posts (stirrups or spigots) and have a handrail with fixings set to match the post spacings.
Perfect for a glass panel railing.

Now if I want the same railing but with a channel fixing, I thought the obvious thing would be to make the post invisible rather than delete them.
That way the post spacing remains and is adjustable.
However the fixings for the railings now disappear.

It is logical I guess in that there is no post so therefore you can't fix anything to it.
But why do we have the option for an invisible post when we can just delete them anyway - what is the use for this?

How can I now distribute the railing fixings to match the post positions?
By divisions and by pattern will not work and as far as I can see I can not manually edit the fixing position.

I don't know, you may have found a bug.
I can imagine that the Fixing somehow reads the number and position of Posts and when Posts are set to invisible it incorrectly think there are no Posts and so does not generate any Fixings.
In any case, I will call this to the attention of GRAPHISOFT developers.

Easy fix (although we shouldn't need to do it).
I just created my own post by opening an existing post object, commenting out all of the scripts and saving as a new name.

Another problem I have noticed with the fixings is when they are set to follow the pattern - they don't.
They just space as per the figure set and it has nothing to do with the pattern formed by the rightmost inner post.
That might have been the other option to fix this - but that doesn't work either.

Hello Guys,

This was actually not a bug, but a design decision. The idea was that if you place the fixings by the posts, it means that they are connected, so if you hide one, the other should hide as well.

Looking at it now, it looks like it shouldn't necessarily work like this, so I have reported it to the designers to reconsider.

Thanks Daniel,
It would be handy to still have the fixings show as we can already turn them off separately from the posts if not needed.
