Help with Story levels!!

Hello all,
Ia m wondering how other people get stories to show below for framing plans etc. right now I have a stuctural set, and a floor plan set of layouts. each controlled by layer combos to show there appropriate objects, framing etc. In ea. layout set is basment, first floor framing, 1st floor, second floor framing, second floor, roof framing and finally roof plan. ea. floor has its own story level with corresponding height. the problem im having is getting the storys below to show with enough detail. Right now I can get the story below to show with walls set to show all relevent. but the doors dont show and neither do any windows. Is this a cut plane setting? I am using full archicad 15 on a T3500 w/ xenon processors. how do other people work around this? Use fills for walls below? is there an easier way? Thank you

You could do this a couple different ways:

Option 1:
Typically, floor framing elements should be drawn on the same Story as the walls below them. For example, the first floor plate's framing would be drawn on the basement Story. You can control the Home Story (i.e. - the story the Element displays on) via the Tool settings. The Home Story is independent of the physical elevation of the Element, and just controls how the element displays on relevant stories.

Option 2:

Create a view of ONLY the framing plan, and then overlay it on top of a floor plan view showing the walls/doors/etc. on the Layout sheet.
