Site Plan View

Hi. I have a trouble showing roof elements on Site Plan View in ARCHICAD. So the view is created on -1 story and the building is roughly about 130 meters high. I have put flat roof slopes with the Mesh Tool and want it to be visible on the site plan view. Here's how it looks in the view:

And Here's how the roof plan looks like:

Grey is the color of the mesh on the roof plan but it is not visible in the previous screen.

Now here are the settings of the site plan view:

How can I make roof elements (Especially the mesh) visible in the site plan view?

Note: I am avoiding to copy the elements on multiple stories. The priority is to show already placed elements on the view.

Operating system used: Windows 11

Yes, I understand. I have had similar situations in the past with Site Plans. Many times, the solution was just drawing those needed geometries using 2D Lines and Fills on the Site Plan.

Maybe the View Map contains items called Site Plan, but that is just a naming. Unfortunately, Archicad does not have a Site Plan type Viewpoint in the Project Map (just like it does not have Reflected Ceiling type Viewpoints either), which would probably be a specialized type of Floor Plan. So, sometimes the desired result needs to be achieved in a different (sometimes a non-BIM) way.

Try to set the "Show on Stories" field for the Mesh to "Home & One Story Down".

The Mesh should be on Story 0, and with this setting, it will be visible on Stories -1 and 0.

I get the point but the thing is the roof mesh is many stories above the site plan view. And if I enable it to be visible on -1 story it will spoil other plans.

I am afraid that it is not possible to display a Mesh on its Home Story, on a Story many Stories below it, but not in Stories inbetween.

If the Mesh is not set to be visible on a specific Story, then it does not matter how you set the fields in your Floor Plan Cut Plane Settings Dialog, it will not be displayed.

Two things you could try:

1. Creating a 3D Document of the model from the top.

2. Placing the Roof plan and the Site Plan as Drawings on a Layout and laying them on top of each other so the Roof Plan would overlap the Site Plan.

There is a Site Plan Creation Workflow Guide available on the Learn Portal that may have additional tips about this topic.

Thanks for your advices. I've been doing all the steps you told me but the thing is that I wanted to reach the following:

As far as ARCHICAD has got the default "Site Plan" in view map section I wanted to have everything in one floor plan. Isn't it possible? If not then what is the meaning of that site plan view? Yes, I've been doing 3D Documents and placing several drawings on one layout but wanted to reach the same (or aproximate) effect on that view. Hope you get my concern.

Yup. Guess that's it. Let's keep doing it the sweet old way. Thank you!
