How to save 3d position in ArchiCAD?

I set a particular position (view) in my 3d window.

And I want to save it, so I do not need to search for it again, each time I move my 3d window to a different position.

How can I save that particular position?

There's two ways:

Save the view in the Navigator thingy. Not sure on details.

My favourite:

Use the actual camera tool to place cameras in the scene.
Once you have a 3D view, go to the VIEW menu [see attached]
for a way to modify or add cameras.

It was a big deal when Archicad finally got a "camera." We were stuck with the 3D Projection Settings as the only way to position a view. Ick. And this was before OpenGL, so navigating was almost impossible in a real project [as differentiated from a demo shack project full of introsuction: "YOU, can do THIS!!" (wave hand to screen)]. Many users jumped right to the savenavigatorstyle method but I'm still feeling best with a visible camera cue in the floor plan.

Even better than the camera (I think) is to save as a "3D Document".
This also save any current marquee or cutting plane crops.
You may not want the actual document it produces but you can open it at any time and then choose to "Open Source View" to get exactly the same 3D view you set up - cropping and all.

I saving my current 3d view as "3D Document". Then I though I only need to open it (that 3D Document) and try to render it.

But it seems I needed to do that "Open Source View" thing.

What should I do? Rightclick on "3D Document" and then choose "Open Source View"?

Exactly.
The 3D document is just a 2D view of the 3D model - but still live and you can add dimensions that show the true size in any direction as it measures along the 3D planes.

You can get simple line images or coloured images just as you can for coloured elevations but you can't render these 3D Documents or show material textures.

Right click and "Open Source View" will open the 3D view with exactly the same viewing angle and it will also remember any marquees and cutting planes that you used to create the 3D Document.
No you can render to your heart content.
