Irregular shape wall

hi all, I m new to this CAD and found really difficult to draw an irregular wall. What is the best way to make such object? I guess use a solid element subtraction to create the unwanted piece. or is it possible to draw the shape then extrude as a wall?

many thanks!

seems Sketchup is much more user friendly

If the wall is just at different heights (i.e. still rectangular) then you can just butt walls together that are different heights.
But if you want a sloping or curved top then yes you will want to use a Solid Element Operation and place the operator in a layer that you can turn off if you don't want to see it.

You can also create a complex profile in the shape you want for the wall but then you need to place the wall at 90° to the way you normally would (and doors and windows will no longer work in it properly).
i.e. place the width of the wall rather than the length.

But by far the best option is SEO. You can use a complex profile to create the cutting operator.

And you also have the Morph tool if you are version 16 or above.
If you like sketch-up you will like the morph tool.
Of course it won't be a wall anymore so doors and windows won't work in it but there are ways around that.

Well.. it CAN still be a wall... by combining Morph with your first suggestion of SEO.

Yao, in the section/elevation view shown, simply draw the shape you show with the Morph tool. Then push-pull it into a shape that extends through your wall in 3D, and do the solid element subtract of the Morph from the wall. Of course, the Morph needs to be in a different layer that will normally be turned off / invisible.
