Keystrokes Not Registering

Okay, I ranting because this just happened to me two times in a row. I hate it when ArchiCAD won't register my command keystrokes. I wanted to move a selection set so I hit CTRL+D, then selected the first point and it threw out the selection set -- I wasn't in the command. So I paid slightly close attention and it did it again. It wasn't until I hit CTRL+D five consecutive times (I was upset) that it finally worked.

I have noticed this problem a lot over the last few months. I thought it was just me, but other users around here are having the same problem.

Is any body else experiencing this?

ah. laptop keyboard - no separate num pad:

'num lock' locks out the rest of the keyboard whilst allowing only the embedded number keys. i hit it on all the time by accident when using keyboard shortcuts - my letter keys then go AWOL until i realise what's happened (which is pretty quickly now )
