Library/project parts

I am wanting to clean up my project folders and delete unused libraries kept from older versions of AC, but some projects used objects from them, as well as self-made objects.

What is the best way to save own/library objects in projects created using previous versions of AC?

Since the majority of archived projects don't use the entire catalogue of objects from older libraries, I no longer need them hogging up space on the harddrive.

Another bonus to archiving libraries is to decrease library loading time when opening older projects.

You can create an Archive (PLA) file, but it will include all objects in all loaded libraries. Doing so will actually take up MORE space on your hard drive than they currently do.

I don't know of any way to only include the used objects.

You will get the best results if you archive them on the release they were created with.

Tom, if I select Save As.. and choose Archicad Archive project (.pla) there is an "Options" button which gives me a second dialog. If I de-select (this is the default) the "Include all parts of loaded libraries" option in that dialog, I thought this gave me exactly that - that is, used objects only. Am I wrong?

Oops, I stand corrected!
